No Bake Cookie Recipe

Posted by Jennifer on Nov 12, 2008 in Recipes |

This is an easy no bake cookie recipe that you usually don’t have to buy special ingredients for because they are all in your pantry!  Plus, the kids can help with the mixing and it’s good even if you can’t wait until they cool. ;)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter/margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3 cups quick oats

Directions:

  • Put the sugar, cocoa, milk, and butter in a pot on the stove at medium heat.  Cook until boiling.
  • Remove from heat and stir for one minute until mixture is smooth.
  • Add vanilla, salt, peanut butter, and oatmeal.  Stir well.
  • Place in a 9×13 pan and cut once cool for bars or place by the tablespoon full onto a pan or wax paper to make cookies.

THANKS for this recipe! I know and love these cookies, and when I asked my mother for the recipe, she didn’t remember making them (she did). Perfect timing, too, because one of my oven elements is out. This will cheer up my weekend! The Chai bread looks like a winner, too…
