It certainly has been awhile since I have done my last Reiki treatment on myself. You can read about it here. You can also get more information about Reiki and why I practice through this post.
DH asked for a Reiki session last night, but I felt completely burned out and sore and tired from the third trimester and figured if I was to extend Reiki to him I had better perform it on myself to get centered first. I asked him if his session could wait until morning. Of course, he agreed.
So this morning when I woke up, I made sure to have a good breakfast and tea. I did about 20 minutes of prenatal yoga and lit incense in the spare room where I would do Reiki. I just finished my 30 minute Reiki session, and thought I should journal about it before doing his session.
I started my session with my hands in prayer by my head asking for guidance and stating my intention of giving Reiki to myself and my baby so that I could center myself. I performed Reiki on my forehead and eyes as they have been causing me pressure headaches, which I am guessing is from all the weather changes.
Then I moved along to my heart and chest, where I realized my breathing suddendly slowed down and became an even paace without me trying to force it to do so. I stayed here for a little bit just enjoying the calm until my wondering got the best of me. How would Sprout enjoy Reiki on my tummy. I put one hand near the bottom of my bump near where her head is and one on the right side which I always feel kicking. Immediately, I could feel her little feet and hands start to move. Not kicks or jolting movements, but just little wiggles. After she calmed down, I moved one hand to my pelvis and kept the other on my belly. I have felt a lot of pressure down low lately, either because she is growing or she dropped further into my pelvis and I am hoping that energy relieves some of that discomfort. While I was in that position, I believe I fell asleep or into a deep meditative state. It was almost like lucid dreaming, but I already can’t remember the visions.
When I came to, I looked at the clock and realized it was almost exactly 30 minutes and it would be a good stopping point. I said my thanks and then played with my pendulum for a bit.
Now I’m off to wake up James for his session.
