This past week, I have realized that I have been called to my home. I have been working on taking time to make a nice dinner, keeping up with my chores, and taking the time for me. I have been listening to the Raw Mom Summit interviews, and I am currently working on the Q&A.
The 4th of July weekend can be consuming, filled with lots of activities, and you lose track of your home and the needs of your family. I will be spending time with extended family – spending time with family from NC, spending time with my mom so she can play with V while she is mourning the loss of a friend, and celebrating my nephew’s EIGHTH birthday!!
How are you going to have a simple 4th of July weekend?

Our family usually has a big Fourth of July party, with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and kids, as it also coincides with my Aunt Judy’s birthday (and was also my late Great Aunt Re’s birthday as well).
This year, people are out of town and for perhaps the first time in my life, we’re not having our party. I’m actually relieved. I’ve been wanting an entire weekend at home for a long time now, and this can now be my weekend to just nest at home with Jeff, with nowhere to go and no schedules to keep.
I am very much looking forward to it.
