This week I have pulled away from the computer a little, wrote in my journal, talked to some girl friends, and read some books. I am in the midst of some challenging parenting times (not major but I know it needs my attention), and I wanted to be present with my daughter. She wants more attention from me, so the attention I give her I want to be positive and loving. I think having a baby brother is finally catching up to her and she misses our alone time together ALL.THE.TIME.
The afternoons, when she used to nap, is especially a challenge. We are both tired and impatient, so with the suggestion of a friend I have implemented “Special Time” around 3pm. She’s in charge of choosing something for us to do that is quiet and relaxing. Yesterday we had a snack on the couch and watched “Shrek” at theater volume. We cuddled and I let my housework slide. It was so good to connect like that!
I would love if you share some of your inspiration from the week because I’m soaking up all the goodness I can get. Here’s my list of links~
