Like a McDonalds Vanilla Iced Coffee
I’m so glad Works for Me Wednesday is back!!
I haven’t been drinking a whole lot of coffee lately (and if I do it’s something decaf), but I ran across this copycat recipe of a McDonald’s Vanilla Iced Coffee and couldn’t resist sharing it. I also can’t resist saving money or helping others save by making things at home.
You will need:
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 1/3 cup milk of your choice
- 2/3 cup coffee
- ice
- sweetener of your choice (sugar, splenda, agave, whatever…)
How to put it all together:
- Make the coffee and set aside.
- Combine other ingredients into a glass and mix well.
- Pour coffee into glass.
- Enjoy!

I had a WFMW post on McD’s iced coffee I think last time Shannon did it. Make your coffee the night before and pop it in the fridge! Then in the morning you just have to add your other stuff and VOILA!
Works for me!

I worked there for 4 years while in college, and that’s pretty much whats in the iced coffees. Of course they use liquid sugars because they dissolve instantly. You can pick up flavored syrups at most grocery stores, and go nuts with the flavors. But the method (using liquid sugars) is put in the ice, add syrup, add cream (don’t bother mixing) then pour in the coffee and stir the whole thing. Tada!

Oh and I forgot, they brew the coffee twice as strong then dilute it down with ice after brewing (to make it room temp), but you can just keep some regular in the fridge from the day before like Tara said

I’m so glad I saw this! I was trying to recreate the hazelnut and have been using fat free coffeemate hazelnut liquid creamer mixed with coffee on ice. Tastes just like it, but I was hoping to find something better for me than continuing to use the coffeemate.

Sounds yummy…..
My sister did the post on Coffee, Coffee, Coffee…
I do like coffee. A lot, actually. I’m just not a daily coffee drinker. And I like creams and flavors and sweet-n-low. (Not that you asked….;))
I thought about doing a post on Diet Coke, Diet Coke, Diet Coke…. probably should’ve….I just may next Wednesday. ‘Course….not sure if it’s a real tip!
It just works for me!

Lisa - I had thought about resorting to coffeemate but I’m glad I came across this recipe. You’ll have to let me know which one you like better.
Rena - Ah.. diet coke! I like diet, but I am not supposed to drink it since I am pregnant. If it works for you, you should totally do a post about it.
