{this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

As many of you know, I work as a virtual assistant *ahem* Organic Support Specialist for The Organic Sister, and I am so excited for today!
I am partly excited because I had a tiny smidge to do with this AMAZING project Tara has been working on, but I am MORE excited to actually see the finished course. Tara may be my “boss” by definition, but she is my Organic Life Role Model, and I sit in awe of all of the work she does in the lives of women.
So, you think I’d share this with you just because I work on some tiny admin stuff for this course? BOGUS! I share this because I freakin’ need this course and maybe some of you do too. Some days as a parent are hard! Meeting our needs on days when you have a teething baby or a tired toddler or a sick kiddo (or the list may go on) are even harder. I know they are difficult! I’ve been in and out of a parenting challenges and kind of in a funk most of the summer here. I’m counting on this e-course for a “Jennie got her groove back” as the diploma at the end.
We have to remember though to cut ourselves some slack once in awhile, give compassion back and be gentle to ourselves, and get support through the messy parenting days. Now is the time for you!
A little about the e-course:
Organic Parenting: The unconventional guide to vibrant mamas and thriving kids is a 6 week e-course by Tara Wagner (The Organic Sister) to help women examine their assumptions, disable their triggers, and nurture real trust, relationship and fun in their families through the use of her Digging Deep process and parenting tools.
The course is based on principles such as Trust, Connection, Autonomy and Passion, leans into the belief that our children are inherently wonderful (as if we didn’t know that), and shows us how we can guide and support them beyond the use of control, punishments, or rewards. But before it even gets into that it covers how you can first fill your own cup, feel vibrant and confident, and remain grounded and centered.
It’s unconventional, deep, personal, spiritual and powerfully effective in creating deep connection, cooperation, and real peace in our homes and relationships.
Sunday ~ Nachos with ground beef, refried beans, grilled veggies, avocado, tomato, and cheese
Monday ~ Burgers, chips, green beans or other garden veggies
Tuesday ~ Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad from the garden
Wednesday ~ Grilled cheese, kale chips, fruit salad
Thursday ~ Crockpot chocolate chili
Friday ~ Homemade pizza
Saturday ~ Pulled pork sandwiches with corn on the cob

So my friend Emily at Joyful Abode is hosting a fun linky party called 20 Chore Tuesday, and guess who’s going to try to keep up with her? Yeah, me!

We are going to be sharing our to do lists, and motivating each other on Twitter to get 20 checks on our to do list today.
Do you want to join in? Or do you just want to catch a peek at my to dos?
Here is my list from my Reminders app on my iPhone:
Here’s to a productive day, everyone!
There is something that I look forward to each week that I have been neglecting. Sundays! It feels like a sacred day to slow down a little… enjoy the morning… reflect… but I haven’t been doing it (as you can see I haven’t done a Sunday Inspiration in… a month?!).
So I had decided this needed to change! This mama needs a break from the hustle and bustle of getting the little ones ready (and myself ready and motivated) to get to the barn each morning for chores and milking. Last night I told J to leave the baby goats with mama because I was taking the morning off.
Here I am while the coffee brews, testing out the waters of taking a morning “off.” You know what? The world is still going on without me. I am sure the goats are out on pasture, the chickens are already roaming outside, and I’m watching a wild rabbit hopping along the drive way.
What do you have planned for YOU today?
Here are some inspirational links from the week::
- Cage Free Family writes about being a Food Activist
- I have to make this for V’s art work
- Zucchini brownies! Because I love chocolate and using my fresh garden produce
- Hold your babies from Psychology Today
Have a fantabulous Sunday, everyone! <3
I am really looking forward to Monday! Don’t get me wrong I will love today because it’s my favorite day of the week, but tomorrow starts something new.

Tomorrow I’m starting this course with a group of lovely ladies from all over the world with one goal: self-love and care! As a mama, a lot of us get lost in caring and loving little ones and our partners. I’m ready to give myself a little extra attention so I can be a better me, wife and mama.
If you’re inspired by this, visit Roots of She and sign up before 12EST today! I’d love to go on this journey with some of my friends.
We had such a fabulous weekend with family that I don’t really want get back to “normal” and start the week, but getting my menu ready may help push me in the right direction.
Monday ~ Pork chops and potatoes with garlic snapes on the grill
Tuesday ~ GF biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs
Wednesday ~ Tacos
Thursday ~ BBQ turkey cups with mashed potato frosting
Friday ~ Pizza and veggie sticks
Saturday ~ Bean soup and grilled goat cheese sandwiches
Sunday ~ Steaks, fried potatoes, broccoli
I’m sharing this menu at The Organizing Junkie. What’s on your menu?
I’m looking forward to an afternoon with my family for a BBQ at my sister’s house. Cousins playing, adults chatting, and good food while celebrating Father’s Day – sounds like a great day to me!
A Happy Father’s Day to my Dad always took the time to color or draw on the living room floor, taught me how to ride my bike and drive (he has the patience of a saint when teaching someone) and even built me custom go-karts, read so many stories after a hard days work, and worked so many hours so that we could travel and so that I could have a lot of fun opportunities growing up. He still saves the day by showing up to help with farm work and his skills are unmatched. I love you, Dad! You rock!
A Happy Father’s Day to the man who is the DaDa to my own children. He is the rock of our family supporting us all in so many ways. He makes my kiddos smile, laugh, and play in a way only a DaDa can do. Read that as “rough housing” and that’s when MaMa leaves the room and cringes at every sound in hopes something or someone isn’t broken. That’s what Dads are for though, right?
We love you DaDa!!!
To all the Fathers out there, and many people who take on that role without the name of Daddy, I hope you have a wonderful day today!
