Baby Goodies!

I ordered some Kate Quinn Organic baby clothes through a co-op (which saved me a pretty penny), and I received them today.  They are too cute not to share.  The yellow one is a sleep sacque, which has the cute little hand covers in case baby is a scratcher.  The wrap-like onesie I really wanted in chocolate with white lining, but it was out of stock in the newborn size.  I do like the combo this way though too.  Now I must find some baby legs or pants to match. :)   I don’t think Sprout will fit in that outfit long.  I also got a pack of washcloths, which I figured I would put in the bathroom (since it matches our colors) and they will be Sprout’s for bathtime.  They are so soft!

Now a picture for your enjoyment!

Heartbeat!

We heard little Sprout’s heartbeat today.  Oh my goodness.. what an experience!  I almost teared up (as did DH), but instead I giggled out loud.  I was so relieved, amazed, and happy.  It was like a little schoolgirl giggle.  His/her heartrate is in the 150′s.  Strong and loud!

What’s new with me?

  • I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I have updated.  It’s amazing how quickly time flies by these days.  Speaking of time flying – I am 11 weeks now and the heartbeat appointment is only 12 days away.
  • I have started reading two new books that are really good, and I think that they will change my perspective on a lot of things.  One is Three in a Bed and The Surrendered Wife.
  • I bought a carseat cover for the cold winter days and a front carrying pack from a rummage sale for $3.  My MIL offered to buy me a rocking chair for my living room for my birthday.
  • It was my 25th birthday yesterday, and it was lovely!  I went to a really cool store where I bought a pendulum, and according to it Sprout is a baby girl.  I guess we’ll see how accurate it is at the ultrasound.
  • I also don’t want to admit that I had fun playing WoW last night with my DH and friends.  I somehow managed to stay up until 1am playing.  But remember, I didn’t just admit that. :)
  • What’s new with you?!

Weekly Pregnancy Newsletter

Since this pregnancy is my first, and I am trying to learn each step of the way, I thought it would be fun to share it with my family and friends also.  Every week, I get an update from Baby Center explaining in words what is going on with my body, how Sprout has grown and changed, and other such words of advice.  The coolest part of the whole thing?  There is a picture of what Sprout should look like each week!

From this week’s newsletter – “Your baby is now a little more than an inch long roughly the size of a large grape. Your baby’s arms and legs are longer. The head is more erect, and the neck more developed. The eyelids almost cover the eyes. External ears are evident and well formed. Your baby now makes some movements and this can be captured via an ultrasound exam. The baby looks more recognizable as a human being, although it is still extremely tiny.”

I’m not complaining! :)

I’m sorry it’s been so long and some posts still have unanswered comments.  That is not like me, but I’m SO TIRED!  Why didn’t anyone warn me that it would feel as if almost every waking moment feels as though I just got hit by a semi-truck?  Wowzers!

I’m thankful to be pregnant with the little Sprout – it’s just a tiring affair to grow another life. :)

I’m Expecting!!!

After trying to work on my goals from last week, and not worry too much about the 2 week wait it finally paid off.  I started spotting on Friday night and I just assumed it was the start of my period, but it never got any heavier.  I spotted a few times yesterday, and I thought that maybe I should get a test since my temperature hadn’t dropped yet.

I took one test (EPT) and it was a faint +.  My DH being the logical man he is, suggested we shouldn’t get our hopes up.  So we bought another test (Answer) and got 2 lines!  We hugged, we kissed, we cried, we were happy and in shock.  The fun part is that we had company coming over in 40 minutes for a bbq.

We were eating dinner, which I could barely eat since I was so excited.  Someone mentioned I should have a high chair here for my niece when I babysit her next week.  I said, well I’m going to need one in 9 months to have in my house all of the time.  My sister-in-law picked up on it right away (she’s due in December).  My sister and mother-in-law had looks of disbelief on their face, and I think my sister said “No way.”  I replied that I had two tests to prove it, so I ran to my room to get them when my sister followed me in there and screamed and cried.  My poor mom kinda missed the conversation so my SIL told her to go into the bedroom and then we all cried like ninnies.  When I came back to the living room my MIL was practically sobbing and there were much congratulations and shock all around.

We made a baby!  I’m daydreaming of holding my new little one and cuddling, baby blankets, cloth dipes, and cool slings……

So now I need to choose a doctor and start my prenatal care.  If anyone has any advice they would like to share, I would love to hear it!
